Posted by Jennifer on Friday, February 20 2004, 9:51 AM Category: Miscellaneous Scientists Accuse Bush Administration of Distorting the Facts This won't surprise most of us who have been paying attention, but it's still amazing to see more than sixty scientists, including 20 Nobel laureates, say that the Bush administration distorts scientific facts for political purposes. The Union of Concerned Scientists has published a 38-page report on Scientific Integrity in Policymaking, which discusses the allegations that "the Bush administration has suppressed or distorted the scientific analyses of federal agencies to bring these results in line with administration policy. In addition, these experts contend that irregularities in the appointment of scientific advisors and advisory panels are threatening to upset the legally mandated balance of these bodies."
